TriMet South Terminus

With high aspirations for this pivotal site in downtown Portland, we transformed a potentially perfunctory infrastructure project — the staging and turn-around site for light rail trains — into one that is completely powered by renewable resources, provides public open space, and marks this highly visible portal to downtown with a large-scale, sustainable structure. The enclosed framework provides a secure area for TriMet personnel to perform middle-of-the night maintenance and repairs, while the solar panels identify both Portland and TriMet as leaders in sustainability.
